Terms & Conditions
DEPOSITS of 20 per cent (a minimum of £50 on wedding cakes) which are non-refundable are required to hold your date. Your cake has not been booked in until a deposit is paid.
FINAL PAYMENT on wedding cakes is due two weeks before your event. If the balance remains unpaid your cake may be cancelled.
COLLECTION – If you collect your cake and transport it yourself we are not liable or responsible once it has left our premises for any damage and strongly suggest that cakes are transported in the boot of your vehicle wherever possible and you drive carefully and slowly.
REFUNDS / CANCELLATIONS Initial deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable unless authorised due to time spent on messages, consultations and loss of other business due to your booking. Credit notes will be given in some circumstances but these are only valid for 12 months.
DAMAGE We are not liable for any damage caused to a cake after it has been collected/delivered and it is the responsibility of the customer to ensure any venue supply a suitable table/location for the cake.
ALLERGIES & SPECIAL DIETARY REQUIREMENTS We make gluten free, vegan and dairy free cakes but cannot supply guaranteed nut free cakes as traces may be present due to the fact we handle products containing nuts – for example marzipan.
ALTERATONS It is your responsibility to read and check the order and any subsequent changes must be agreed with us. If required we can amend your booking and design but additional charges may apply. We reserve the right to change the design at any point if circumstances beyond our control may compromise the quality of the finished cake i.e. melting due to the weather. Every cake is made individually by hand so although every effort is made to ensure consistency small variations may occur.
NON-EDIBLE ITEMS Most cakes can contain non-edible items such as supporting dowels in tiered cakes, wires in sugar flowers, skewers or floral tape and it is the client’s responsibility to make sure these are removed prior to consumption.
BEST BEFORE DATE Your cake is baked and decorated as closely as possible to the event date to ensure it is as fresh as possible and sponge cakes should be ok for up to 10 days after first being cut if stored correctly.
COMPLAINTS If you have any concerns please notify us on collection or delivery so we have the opportunity to rectify the situation before your event. All other concerns should be made in writing and evidence of the fault included. A refund is only given if the uneaten cake is returned and is unsuitable for consumption. No refunds are given due to change of mind and in the unlikely event of late delivery (eg after the start of the wedding breakfast) the maximum compensation will be 10 per cent of the full cost. We ask for patience with factors that may be beyond our control (for example traffic conditions or bad weather) as we cannot be held liable for any such delays.
